Using and Checking Off-Page-Reference in a large project team

We are about to create 100 to 200 Visio diagramms with a large team. Many
diagramms will have Off-Page-References to diagramms created by other people.
I have two questions on this:

1.) How is the best way to let somebody else know that I wish to connect to
one of his diagramms (e.g. send him the connector by mail)?

2.) When all the diagramms are created, is there a check-programm to print
all Off-Page-References or check all Off-Page-References of all the diagramms
in the project folder?

Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
Martin

Unfortunately there is no built-in tool designed to manage links between
drawings such as you describe. However, if you build a database (in SQL or
Excel, or some other database format), you could use the Link Data to
Shapes feature in Visio 2007 to import the data on the links into the
off-page reference shapes. When Visio links a data row to a shape, it
recognizes a column which contains Hyperlinks, and will not only insert the
data into the shape, but add the Visio hyperlink to the shape as well.
This would help to keep the number of steps to a minimum.

Plus, of course, you can use automation to streamline the process if you
are into writing code. Also, you may want to check out the Office System
site for Visio Solutions from third party providers :
http://directory.partners.extranet.microsoft.com/searchresults.aspx?i=1&pnam
e=&spec=0&pid=85&vid=0&country=&SearchType=P.

Hope that helps.
