Hi,
over the last few weeks I've been trying to access my mysql database
from excel 2004 (Macintosh).
So far I've been able to get the MySQL ODBC driver from MySQL working
(odbctest works fine on the command line). The Apple ODBC Manager also
recognizes the driver properly.
The only problem is that excel doesn't recognize the existence of
Apple's ODBC Manager.
I also tried using the OpenLink ODBC Manager, but it crashes as soon
as you try to create a data source.
Excel can see the OpenLink Manager, but can't load the driver :-(
Dear Microsoft Mac BU,
the Macintosh platform is renowned for it's ease-of-use. Please bring
Excel and it's ODBC connectivity up to this level. When working with
large collections of data (ie: in a Pivot Table) you need access to
the database.
Thanks for listening,
Matthias
