Using AutoFill

Hi,

Say I have this function in one of my cells:

=IF(AND(Sheet1!B3<=Sheet2!F2,Sheet2!F2<=Sheet1!C3),1,0)

I want to use autofill to drag this function to the right, holding Sheet1!B3 as it is, and having Sheet2!F2 change to Sheet2!G2, Sheet2!H2, etc.... Is there a way I can lock cell B3 on Sheet 1 in that equation so that when I autofill to the right it does not automatically change to cell C3?

Take a look at the "Switch between relative and absolute references"
topic in XL Help.

The reference to B3 needs to be absolute rather than relative so it won't
change when copied: i.e., Sheet1!$B$3

Alternative to typing the $s you can select the reference to B3 then press
Command+T to apply absolute referencing. The keystroke can also be applied
while entering the reference.

Hello,
Sorry to jump in your thread, but I have a question related to your
query... Bob, would there be a list of the shortcuts that can be used
in Excel for Mac as the function keys for Excel for Windows? (F2, open
cell edition, F4 to cycle around absolute values, F9 to calculate)
MacBook, OS X, Intel

Thanks
Omar

Yes - Look at XL Help (the "Excel Keyboard Shortcuts" topic).

John has answered your basic question but just to expand the matter...

You also have extensive capability in Mac Excel to assign/reassign keyboard
shortcuts of your own. The only caveats are that there are a few commands
whose keystrokes can't be modified & OS X commandeers some strokes for
Exposé plus some other operations.
