Using Calendar to display multiple dates

I have a table of records that track the dates that an employee has been absent from work. I would like to provide users the ability to click a button and generate 12 calendars (Jan - Dec) and display all the dates for which the employee has been absent. I cannot figure out how to have the calendar display more than one date at a time. Having a visual display of dates is sometimes more helpful than looking at a list of numbers.
