Using coloured tex in a Validation list

Can anyone help me?
I am trying to produce a selection list using Validation and have tried to
get it so that the text in the list is coloured but as mentioned I have tried
to format the selected cells prior to putting in the text, though this shows
up in the actual list once I have carried out the validation process and go
to select from the list it appears in black and white. Anybody got any ideas?
Also I know how to use certain things within Excel I am know Expert (as you
can tell), so would be grateful for something simple or a step by step guide.

What you're running into is that formatting in Excel imposes attributes on
the cell, not the cell's content. Whether you can accomplish what you
describe may be possible but it depends heavily on which version of Excel
you're using... And that little detail you neglected to mention

If you're using a Windows version you'd do better to post to one of the Win
Excel groups which you'll find listed here (this is the Mac excel group):

Regardless of whether you reply here or go to one of those groups be sure to
indicate the specific version of Excel including update level.
