Using DAO when have two decode in select not returning data

I am on Office XP with Excel 2002 using DAO. I have a sql
statement which pulls 12 fields (the last two use
decode). When I copy the recordset to the excel
spreadsheet it is not pulling in the last field. However,
when I qualify the first decode with a name then it pulls
in the last field. This does not make sense that I need
to do this. I am trying to find out if anyone else has
had this problem.
