Using Draw feature-How to delete part of vertical line?

I had to draw, free hand, a special table with columns and rows of various
sizes. I used the Draw w/ line option. Some of my vertical lines were too
long, but I could not figure out how to delete a portion of it and leave the
rest. It would only let me move the whole line up or down. Help!!!

You have to select the line such that you get a sizing pointer (double
arrow) rather than a moving pointer (four-headed arrow). You get this
pointer only when you hover over the circular sizing handle at one end of
the line or the other. This can be tricky to do with lines, but you can set
the size exactly on the Size tab of the Format AutoShape dialog.
