Hi
This query might be better placed in the FastMail web-forum however I've
always received top class assistance from these "office.mac" newsgroups so
I'll try here first.
I've set up an IMAP email account with FastMail. My initial impressions are
very good indeed. There is however one snag. This may be due to my not
understanding IMAP completely of course
In the folders window of the mail browser the FastMail account appears as
one of those "shared mailbox icons" which I associate with IMAP. Then all
the subfolders I've created using the FastMail web interface appear under
that main one.
I have my FastMail account included in my "Send and Receive All" schedule
which checks for mail every 10 minutes.
When mail arrives with FastMail the "Send and Receive All" schedule doesn't
seem to see it, and sometimes will give me an error along the lines of
"server timed out".
However if I click on the "shared mailbox icons" for each folder in
FastMail, then it does see the contents of the folder and the unread new
emails "arrive".
This only seems to work if I click on each actual folder. Clicking on the
main FastMail mailbox for example will not prompt the sub-mailboxes/folders
to "look" and see what is on the server.
As I have a lot of sub-mailboxes/folders it means I have to manually click
on each one in turn to see what is on the server.
Have I got things set up wrongly with Entourage do you think?
Thank you
