Using file saved status in XSL

Hello,

I have a document that I am linking to in a form, when the form gets
saved the document gets moved and renamed. Naturally I want to update
the link to show the new location.

So how (within the view1.xsl) do I detect that the form has been saved/
submitted? I know I could do this by adding another field and
updating it only when submitting, but is there another way to get at
the fact that the document been saved/submitted and use that within
the XSL document?
