Using Fill

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

I am trying to set up the fill to continue this pattern:
A58=B45 A59=C44 A60=D43 A61=E42,
when I select these cells (and a bunch of new ones) and hit fill right, the letters progress properly but I can't get the numbers to decrease (A58=B45, A59=C45 A60=D45 etc.) I've tried a couple of the different options under fill, but with no luck yet. Can someone help me with this?

One way:

A58: =INDEX($A:$AT,103-ROW(),ROW()-56)

Copy down as far as desired.
