Using Groove 2007

I have a small business and have 1 salesman who is on the road. We both have
Office 2007 Ultimate on our laptops. I noticed online about $79 per user per
year for relay services. Do I need this or since I have the Groove 2007 in
Office 2007 do I not need this?

Are there any type of relay services included with the Groove 2007 in Office
2007? We would like to have a workspace to collaborate with when out of the
office.

Thanks,

Jared

You would need the Groove relay servers - these are included with the Groove
2007 client licenses. The alternate, is to host your own Groove servers but
that would incur substantive costs (perhaps not justified by the low number
of Groove clients in use).

No, you do not need to purchase a relay license.

If you both have purchased Microsoft Office Groove 2007 (including in an
Office package), those copies of Groove include a subscription to relay
services hosted by Microsoft. This is not like having a Groove Relay Server
of your own, or a subscription to Microsoft Groove Enterprise Services (both
of which give greater control, but are intended for large Groove domains),
but it is perfectly adequate to provide normal Groove communications.

If you check out a boxed copy of Groove 2007, you can see a bullet item
about this on the bottom of the box. (At least with the US English packaging
-- formatting may move it elsewhere on other packages.)

Enjoy!
