Using Groove syncing a folder with LARGE amount of LARGE files

Peter

Hello,

I am playing around with Groove and have a folder the has about 3GB if
files. I do not need to sync all files in this folder but would only want to
sync files from the past month. How can I do this?

Thank you,
Peter>>

There is not an override for the file limits nor is there a file
specification mask (cool idea though). You will have to use a sub folder to
handle you needs. While it could get ugly later, you could always create a
new folder and move the contents into the folder a little at a time. It will
eventually take the whole 3+ GB. The risk is severe performance problems at
start up and inability to invite any new users into the space once it goes
over the file limits.

oh well, this does make it kind of hard to use this. these would be nice
features, probably the first things I would have thought of if I was
developing this.

Thanks again,
Peter.

There were some new file sync/sharing restrictions with Groove 2007, I used to use Groove 3.1 for sync'ing LARGE folders although it
was not ideal.

The new restrictions in Groove 2007 forced me to research some other tools and I landed on FolderShare, another company Microsoft
bought. Thankfully they haven't ruined this one yet, probably because they haven't tried to do any development on it ;-)

While it still has limits, I am syncing two folders without any problems
13.4 GB and almost 10,000 files (doh! I think the limit is 10k files so I have to watch this one)
3.7 GB and 4,250 files

I went back to using Groove for another projust where I know we want to keep everything small and because it involves two laptops
that are never together and have slow connections in between, I thought Groove might handle it better. The jury is still out IMHO.
