I have been experimenting with Infopath 2003. I am trying to design a form
that can do this:
* Collect data on software releases, errors, updates, general info
* Populate with data from Excell spreadsheets
* Be used by people who don't have Infopath
* Be posted in a local area where multiple reviewers can view the content
and make changes or suggestions
* Export the gathered data into an Excell spreadsheet
* Publish the data as a technical note in read-only form such as a PDF or
HTML page, or in email
I need this form to replace Word templates that we currently use for
software tech notes. As the note is passed between reviewers before
publication, individual normal.dot settings override template settings, and
the final publishing writer spends HOURS during a publishing season
correcting the format of the note before final publication. If I can get my
content resources and reviewers to fill in the content with absolutely
controlled formatting, I will save a bundle of time.
So far, I can only accomplish the first bullet above successfully. Any
suggestions for the other 5? Is Infopath the right tool for these goals?
