Using Mail merge from Excel into Word get .0 in Zip

When using Mail merge in Word to make mailing labels with data from Excel the
labels end up with the correct 5 digits plus a decima; point and a Zero, for
example 34442.0 Rechecking in Wxcell and the format in the Zip column seems
correct. Help.
