I have an Exchange 2003 server with users running Outlook 2003 clients.
Until recently I had a user with two generic SMTP aliases on her account
([email protected] and (e-mail address removed)). She wanted to be able
to send mail from these accounts so she would not have to put her own email
address on the correspondence, so I changed each of these to be their own
mailboxes and giving her Send As permission, and the mailboxes forward all
mail to her Exchange mailbox.
However now she wants to use the Mail Merge function in Outlook to send bulk
mailings to individuals and send the messages from these mailboxes.
Unfortunately during the mail merge process the From: field is not
available. She will be doing this often enough that the following aren't
viable options:
- Changing the default SMTP address in her user properties to match the
address she wants to send as
- Creating multiple Outlook profiles on her PC for each of the other
accounts so she can launch that profile to send that particular email
Is there an easier way than the two methods described above to send a mass
mailing via mail merge (so the messages are tailored to each recipient) and
still be able to send From: an account other than the one she's logged into?
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
