USING MEDIA CENTER REMOTE WITH POWERPOINT

I have never used Media Center so please forgive me if this is a dumb
question, but can you use the Remote with media center to control a slide
show in Powerpoint?

Well I don't have Media Center, and this would influence whether or not I
would buy it or just go with XP Pro for the Operating System instead.
