Using Microsoft Clipart

When I attempt to link to MS Clipart from Publisher 2003, I can download/copy
to clipbaord JPG file types no problem, when ever I choose a PNG type it
fails with error file type not supported. If I just go to the Clipart site
and copy the file then, open word and paste it in it will work. It appears to
only fail when calling from within publisher to the clipart site, and, only
on PNG type files. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a viewer for .png files? Are the .png images associated with the
viewer? Create an association and try inserting again.

Mary,

Thanks very much for your prompt reply, do you mean windows file association
or is there something in publisher I should be looking at. As mentioned when
I copy it after accessing the clipart page directly then open word/publisher
and paste it in all is ok. It is when I access the clipart page after
starting publisher up then accessing clipart from within - ie.
insert>image>clipart>online etc.

Hope this helps

In Windows Explorer, right-click any .png image, properties, opens
with...change. Associate with the same program that opens your .jpg images.

Mary,

Sorry I have not replied sooner have been caught up. I tried as you
suggested and the .png files were associated with the same file as is used
..jpg files, MGI Photosuite. I again tried to load a file from MS Clipart and
again got the same response. I tried changing the associated file to MS Photo
Editor and got exactly the same results as described earlier. Hope this
assists.

Look at the PNG32.FLT filter, name it PNG32.OLD; drag new instance from your
setup disk.
It is in a folder similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Grphflt
