Using "Modify Style" window

1. In Word XP I have the Modify Style window open. At the
lower right there is a checkbox labelled "Automatically
Update." What will happen if I check it? I have spent over
a half hour searching Help with no success.

2. It used to be that by pressing F1 the context Help
would tell me all about the current window. When did MS
decide to drop that very helpful feature?

If you check that box, then whenever you make any change to a paragraph in
that style, the style itself will be updated, and so the change will be
applied to all paragraphs in that style. This can be helpful if you're
fine-tuning the style formatting and don't want to have to keep updating the
style manually, but you don't want to leave it enabled after you've got the
style defined the way you want it and need to be able to occasionally apply
some direct formatting to specific paragraphs.
