Using next record with text box

D

Dan Lindner

Does anyone know a shortcut or a way around using the
nextrecord filed in a text box?

We are trying to use mailmerge for printing 2-up postcards
on one 8.5 X 11 sheet.

«SurvNo»
«Principal»
«BusinessName»
«StreetAddress1»
«City», «State» «ZipCode»

Then on lower half of sheet same info, but <<nextrecord>>
comes before <<SurvNo>>.

We need to resolve this problem while using the 2 text
boxes per sheet.

Thank you

Hi Dan,

I am not really sure what your problem is. If you want two copies of the
same post card on each sheet, delete the <<Next Record>> field.

By textboxes, do you mean cells of a table. That is what you should use,
not text boxes.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Hi Dan,

Lots of fields don't work correctly in text boxes. They
shouldn't be used for Forms or Mail Merge (or anything
else, if you can help it - but then Microsoft doesn't tell
you that).

Since you already have the text boxes, go into the "Format"
dialog box, Textbox tab and use the button to convert to a
FRAME. You can insert what you need into a FRAME, no
problem.

Another time, you might try setting something like this up
as a table, as Doug suggests.
