using nicknames

it seems as if I cannot use initials as nicknames. Is
this true? I have a contact with initials FGC, but unlike
with Outlook 2000, if I use the initials as the nickname,
the system refuses to recognize that contact.

Any ideas?

Outlook has never used Nicknames for Contacts except in the old IMO mode.
Perhaps you could specify the version you now use and what it is you are
trying to do.
