Using NULL in shading cells

L

Lenny

I have entered conditional formatting in a cell that is basing the results on
numbers entered into 2 cells, C7 and C8 with the conditional formatting in
Cell C8. I set up the following conditions:

Condition 1
Cell Value Is 'less than' =$C$7 Preview of format.... red background

Condition 2
Cell Value Is 'greater than or equal to' =$C$7 Preview of format...green
background

As written, Cell C8 defaults to 'green' when C7 and C8 are blank (Null?)

I would like cell C8 to remain blank (white background) until a number is
actually entered into C8, even with an entry in cell C7. How can I
reconfigure the conditions to make this happen?

Assistance is appreciated ... Lenny

Use the Formula Is option

Condition 1
=AND(COUNT(C7:C8)=2,C8<C7)

Condition 2
=AND(COUNT(C7:C8)=2,C8>=C7)
