Using outline numbered lists for a requirements document

Hello

I am using Word 2003 and want to know if I am using the Outline Numbered
List feature correctly. I am writing a requirements document which contains
five levels of styles:
Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Requirement
Sub Requirement

I set up a customised outline numbered list as follows:

Level 1 is linked to Heading 1, and numbered 1, 2, 3
Level 2 is linked to Heading 2, and numbered 1, 2, 3
Level 3 is linked to Heading 3, and numbered 1, 2, 3
Level 4 is linked to Requirement, and numbered a, b, c
Level 5 is linked to Sub Requirement, and numbered i, ii, iii, iv

Levels 6 through 9 are linked to 'no style'.

Since I only need three levels of headings in my document, I only used
Heading 1, 2 and 3. I have not touched the remaining Headings 4 to 9 at all.
As you will see above, they are not linked in my outline numbered list
either.

Is this the correct way to use outline numbered lists? I have never seen
anyone with a need to write a document using 'legal/technical numbering)
link any of the levels within an outline numbered list to styles other than
headings. So is the way I am using the feature correct?
