Hi Harold,
When I use an Outlook Contact Folder as the data source
in the Word Merge Wizard, the Contacts shown in Word do
not reflect what the Outlook Contacts actually are. (Not
reflecting any changes).
It always helps if you also mention the software version
involved.
May we assume that this is occurring with existing mail
merge documents, and not new ones you've just set up? And
that you usually set up a mail merge from the Outlook side
(Tools/Mail merge in Outlook)?
Word never connects directly to Outlook. There's a
converter that turns Outlook information into a delimited
text file, and the mail merge is linked to that. Depending
on the exact circumstances, this file may be created only
in memory, or it may actually be saved to disk. I'm
guessing it's this latter situation you're running into.
Since there is no dynamic link to the Outlook data, no
changes made in Outlook since the text file was created are
reflected in the mail merge. You need to re-link to the
main merge document (Tools/Mail merge in Outlook, choose
"existing document").
