Using Outlook with Exchange Server

G

glasgow

Hi all, can anyone give me an easy way to connect a laptop remotely onto an
Exchange Server ?
I have a laptop, have a VPN set up and working fine, so have remote
connection to the network.
Everything works fine when the laptop is in the premises, and cabled onto
the network, and logged on to the domain. Outlook works good on Exchange
Server there.
But when I take the laptop elsewhere, even connecting with the VPN, and
logged into the domain, Outlook shows the Exchange Server as disconnected.
Send and Receive gives server not found message.
In any case, I would rather not use the domain login remotely if it can be
avoided.
I have no experience of this scenario, and would appreciate any help. I
administer the domain, but the ISP deals with the Exchange Server.
Many thanks.

You have to use your domain log in to access the Exchange server.

Have you tried accessing it using RPC over HTTPS? It is usually easier to
use than a VPN connection.
