Using Paste as Picture with Excel

Version: 2008

Email Client: Exchange

Seems I can no longer get "Paste as Picture" to work when moving a block from Excel to Entourage. Anybody have any ideas how to fix? Or why it might not be working?

Also,FWIW I hope MSFT fix/update/whatever the way this works so you can actually paste the real block from Excel.

I have had a lot of people I send "Paste as a Pic" to because they can't read it (too faint) or it's to small to read and they can't actually use the block in Excel on their side.

And yes I have sent them Feedback....

Thanks in advance

Hmmm, I wonder if this could be part of the bug where Entourage 2008 will
not show jpgs in the message if they are over 400kb.

I'll ask the Excel MVPs and see what they know.

BTW, why not attach the files as an attachment?

Diane,

It's just a small block of figures about 5 columns wide and 5 rows high of a much larger spreadsheet. Sending the whole thing would make the email less direct by not having it in the body.

But sounds like you are right about a size limit. As an experiment I filled rows 1,2,3 and columns A, B & C. with numbers starting with 1 through 6 and tried to Paste as Picture and it worked. Then I filled in Rows 3 & 4 and columns A, B & C and it didn't work. So size must be an issue? :-(

I hate that Windows Excel and Outlook work so much better (not perfect though)

Still no word back yet, but it does seem we are on the right track with
size.

Have you ever tried to take a screenshot using command-shift-4 (I use
SnapzProX.)and save it as a .gif to send? Since the data can't be used why
not try a different type of picture?

I am experiencing similar problems after applying the 12.1.4 update: I cannot paste as picture from excel into powerpoint or word. I can paste as excel object or as text. I don't think it is size based as when I try to copy to the clipboard and paste the result into f.ex. Graphic Converter the option to create new picture from clipboard is grayed out. Also, if I try to paste into PP as pdf the result is a marker – no content. It always used to work. If I paste with cmd-v into word the excel object comes in ok, but when I then try the paste as picture from the option-icon, word gives an error message saying there is not enough memory or disk space. Both of which, by the way, I have plenty of.

Sorry, but this newsgroup is for Entourage support. You'll want to post
your question in a new thread in the PowerPoint or Word newsgroup.

I can see why he might have asked here as he's trying to paste into
Entourage.

I would send Microsoft feedback on this and report it as a bug. Submit on
the Excel newsgroup also.

The OP is trying to do this but nothing in this other poster's message
says "Entourage" though. He's trying to paste from Excel into PowerPoint
or Word.

A good example of why folks should start their own topics and not
interject their problems into someone else's thread.

It appears to be a size issue. JPEG attachments also have a limit of 400KB,
but not other file types.
