Using photo gallery for a website

Karen

I have been trying to create a slideshow version of the photo album for my
website, which I am editing through Microsoft Front Page. I have no problems
getting the album or creating it (click on insert and follow instructions??)
my problem seems to be when I try and save the webpage I have created. The
following message comes up:

"To save this page and photo gallery, open a Front Page based website and
save the page to that site"

I have tried opening the webpage and then going through Front page from
there to add the album but I am foiled at every turn!

Help??!!

I did open the web first. I went to the website, opened the page using
FrontPage from there and then tried to insert an album.

Have tried it so many different ways now I am ready to quit! Even tried
Adobe Photoshop but I didnt manage that - perhaps I am just not experienced
enough.

Does Jalbum create a link to another site or does it open directly on the
webpage you are viewing?

With JAlbum you build the gallery outside of FP. Then import that whole
folrder into FP and link to the index page it made. So, yes, it resides
within FP.
You do the same thing with galleries built with PS.

1)start front page
2) click on file
3) click open SITE
4) select the folder - single click to highlight the folder blue
5) click open
(don't double click the foder, just click it once and use the open button.)
Then you will have the option to add front page information (it pops up) to
the folder, select yes that you would like to do that. Then you can you can
open your page and save it to that folder. Pay careful attention that you
save it to that specific folder. Once the front page info is added, front
page recognizes that folder as a web SITE.

(first Import the photos you want in the gallery into FP, having resized &

Thanks for all the advice - will give it another shot. I managed to create
something using Adobe but then didn't work out how to have it on the
particular web page I wanted it on. I dont have the HTML coding for my
website (inherited it!) and I am in no way experienced enough to work round
it so I just keep recycling the pages.

www.sigma-astro.co.uk. It's a bit basic but it gives you an idea of my
limitations!

Thanks again

Thank you Dan. I followed your very simple, straight forward instructions
and have managed to create the album and put it on the website. I still have
a few kinks to iron out - couple of the photos haven't uploaded properly, but
I am sure I can fix that (notice there is a thread about it so will read
that!!)

Thanks again!
