Using Prior Version of Word After Installing 2007 Beta

I am attempting to use my Office 2002 programs to work with documents until I
have fully tested the backward compatibility of the new Office 12 beta. I
have changed my file associations back to the files in the Office10
directory, rather than the Office12 directory and left all the old program
installed.

When I open a document off of our fileserver, it appears that the spaces in
the folder names are causing a fit for my old Office 2002 programs, something
that has never happened before this installation. I get an error message for
each space...
ie: for a file stored in Server/Human Resources/word.doc, I get the
following error message:

"Server/Human.doc cannot be found" and "Server/Resources/word.doc cannot be
found". Then the file opens.

This is happening both in Excel and Word, but only when I open with the
Office 2002 programs, not with the new beta programs.

HELP!

Changing the file association is insufficient. You need to open WordXP for
it to reregister itself as the default Word. If that isn't working, you need
to manually reregister. See

but you will need to put the full path to the correct version of Word in the
start line and add the /r switch.

Thanks, that seems to have solved the problem for Word. I suppose I should
repost this question on the Excel section of the forums to see if there is a
similar fix for Excel? (The same procedure didn't seem to solve it there...)
