I would like to be able to communicate project status, etc. with Outlook. I
do not have Web Server or Project Server...are they difficult/expensive to
install?
It's all relelative. For many, Project Server and all the bits that go
with are expensive. It also requires, in my opinion, a big
organisational change which normally is much more expensive than the
hardware/software.
If you ware trying to communicate a project status ... best to do it
with a Status Report crafted by the Project Manager and sent out as
document/report. Do it in Email via Outlook if you want. The PM should
comment on status, current issues, forecast, budget status, new risks,
recent changes, recent accomplishments, etc. Don't rely on sending out
a MPP file to achieve any of this.
