Using Project 2007 Remotely

R

Robin Roe

Hi

We are currently running Project Server 2003, with remote Project Prof 2003
users using a Terminal Server for access. We tried using Project Prof
directly connected from the remote sites but was a little slow for people.
Would like to get away from using TS if possible and am just wondering if
there is a noticeable difference using 2007 directly connected as opposed to
2003?

Thanks

Yes, Project Professional 2007 is much faster than 2003 over slow networks.
The reason is that Project Pro 2007 caches the Enterprise Global and all
projects that are opened. From then on changes are read and saved over the
network dramatically reducing the flow of data and so improving performance.
