Using Project Authentication

Brandon

We are trying to use project authentication because our company uses Novell and local windows account authentication. We are having an issue getting resources set up that link to the users we set up with project authentication. Can anyone let me know what we need to do?

If you can help this person, then why don't you post the answer in the
newsgroup so that everyone can benefit? This newsgroup is a forum where we
all help one another publicly. I would suggest you start posting some real
answers instead of merely advertising your services.

It sounds like you may have taken an incorrect approach to populating your
resources/users. Any user that is also a resource should be added through
the resource pool and not through users and groups in Project Web Access.
Creating the resource pool creates the user accounts automatically. You can
try using Tools > Enterprise Options > Import resources to enterprise
feature and see if this allows you to map to existing user accounts. This
works with Windows Authentication but may not work without it. I don't have
time to test it, but you can. If this doesn't work, you should consider
rerunning your database setup scripts to start over. If you've made
customizations to the Enterprise Global, save these using the backup feature
and then restore it to the freshly reset database.
