Using Project Data Services

I have installed Project Server 2003 using the single computer installation
option. I am also able to access and login to the web access site, but only
from another computer. For some reason, the localhost site will not come up
from the server. Anyway, we are wanting to use the Project Data Service
component, and I am trying to use the PDSTest.net utility that comes with the
PDS Reference. Basically for this utility you furnish the server url, logon
and password and select a simple method, and it will display the XML result.
I have attempted to use the admin logon and password and have tried using
windows authenication, but I keep getting a logon exception. It displays the
following message: The underlying connection was closed. Unable to connect to
the remote server. Any suggestions? Does this test utility not work? Or
does the server require some setting to allow you to call the PDS through
SOAP?

You should use the netbios name to connect to PWA. If you find this doesn't
work on the server, itself, you may need to make a hosts entry.
