Using REF field and Macros in Form but unable to protect document

Hi,

I'm using Word 2003 and am working on a form. I used a Macro to get a
checkbox to populate other checkboxes once it is checked by the user. I also
used a REF Field to enter text from one textbox into other locations in the
document.

I tried to protect the form so that I could test it but Word will not let me
protect the form. The "Protect Form" button on the Forms toolbar is grayed
out as is the "Start enforcment" button on the Protect Document task pane.
Any ideas why and what I need to do to fix it?
