Using Risk factors in MSP 2002/Server

Hi,

I need to be able to apply a risk weighting (value of 1 to 10) to the
durations and work values of my project, have everything calculated
(including the critical path) based on that, copy it (baseline maybe) and
then return the project back to its original state. I can compare the two
sceanrios (one being the current plan and the other being the one with the
weighting).

Problem is I have had real problems trying to come up with a process to do
this - mainly because in order to get a new path calcualted this has to be
done on the current schedule which is OK, but becuase I can then baseline
the plan, but I can't find a way of returning the plan back to its original
state without also ending up placing lots of constraints on the tasks in the
project.

Can anyone suggest a way of achieving what I want please ?

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary

I think you better work on a copy and then if necessary use teh Compare
Projects addon, or programmatically copy fields you have changed in the copy
into the original.

Hi Rod,

A baseline won't work because I need to see the imapct of a risk factor
against work and duration values AND see the impact on the scheduling of
those tasks.

Changes in duration won't have a cumulative impact on the scheduling of
tasks in a baseline - unless I have missed something.

Do you have any other suggestions ?

Thanks
