Using scroll bar causes Word to freeze

I have a 74 page document that works well most of the time. However,
recently the program has developed an annoying problem. Often times when I
am down deep in the document, I use the right scroll bar to move higher in
the document, most times to the TOC at the beginning. Lately, when I do so,
the program becomes non-responsive and all I have is the hourglass. I must
close and restart the program and I will loose all information from the last
save. Any idea how I can get this to stop?

Thanks.

I also want to add that the freezing happens when I grab the scroll with my
mouse and lift it up. I can still click on the up and down arrows and it
will continue to work.

Sounds like possibly a graphics or printer driver issue. Try checking on the
Internet support sites that you have the latest drivers and then (re)
install them.

Note that if you frequently want to return tot he ToC, there is built-in
command, Go To ToC. Run the Customise Toolbar and select All Commands and
search for it and then drag and drop it onto a Toolbar. Also investigate the
DocMap feature for navigating long documents: it's unbeatable!
