Using SQL Server 2000 with Project Server 2002

Michelle Warner

Is it necessary to buy SQL Server client licenses for SQL
Server 2000 when used in conjunction with Project Server
2002? Is the only client connection basically the Project
Server? Also does it make a difference whether or not you
use SQL Server standard or enterprise? Which is the most
preferred?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michelle,

You will need to purchase SQL Server licenses. I would speak with MS about
the specifics of your licensing requirements to determine the most
cost-efficient licensing plan. I would assume you are all set with
licensing as it relates to your users connecting to the mail server to
retrieve e-mail notifications from MS Project.

In order to use the advanced Portfolio Analyzer and SharePoint Team Services
features, you will need at least Office XP.
