Using SQL to run queries against the project plan

I have always used MS Project as a stand alone product on a PC. Now I am
using Project Server, and I also happen to be an MS-SQL expert. I would like
to take advantage of my SQWL skills and query the Project Plan now that it is
in a MS-SQL Database. What do I need to do this? Is there a database
schema? Do I need SQL Client software? Database Name, Access? I am starting
from scratch here

If you are an MS-SQL expert you should know how to query the project server
database. It is like any other MS-SQL database and you control access and
query in exactly the same way.
There is a document titled srvrdb.htm that comes with project server. You
can find it on the CD or the machine where you have installed project
server. It covers the schema and working with the database. You should also
read the document titled projdb.htm which covers the project database.
