Using Tablet PC/OL2007. Text disappears after insert during reply

I can't figure out a fix for this one. Tablet maker, HP, says it's an MS
problem and they've given up. Using a TC4400, brand new Tablet PC with XP
Tablet PC Edition OS, Office 2007 and all the latest drivers I have a problem
when doing the following:

Opening an email, then selecting Reply. Using the Input Panel and Tablet
pen, once the text has been entered and either using the Insert or automatic
text insert the text will disappear. It seems to disappear behind the active
window.

The problem goes away if you first select somewhere outside the email, or
somewhere else inside it, then begin typing.

Problem does not exist on Outloook 2003.

I have modified every setting I can think of.

HTML, RTF, plain text makes no difference.

It's on a reply only, and you have to open the email first.

Thanks for any help!

I too experience the problem you describe with my Thinkpad X60 with Vista
Business and Outlook 2k7.

I'm having a similar problem with ThinkPad X61, Vista Business, and OL2007.

Create a new message, the subject will not accept the text insert until you
select outside the subject area.

I wouldn't say the problem goes away ,in my case, by tapping outside first.
Tapping outside the Input Panel after entering text in it, and sometimes
double tapping, makes it insert all the text it has buffered.
