Since you don't identify your specs go directly to that as it is the most
common cause of such issues: Make certain that Office is fully updated
(12.2.3), that OS X is fully updated (10.6.2), that you've run Disk Utility
- Repair Disk Permissions, and that you've restarted your Mac.

If that doesn't correct the situation you'll need to be far more exact about
what you're attempting to do, how you're attempting to do it, & what you're
looking to accomplish. As you're message reads I get the impression that you
may be attempting to do something that just isn't supposed to be done -
that's what is causing the the problem. Also, clarify further: Does the Mac
actually crash or is it simply PPT? And does the program *crash* [Quit
completely generating an error report] or does it *hang* [spinning beach
ball]? If an error report or message appears when this happens, what is the
content of the message?

I am updated..On to more about my issue

Received a theme slide that I need to use for the ppt's I am doing. I added it to My Themes, I do not now how to add it to the Slide Themes on the program itself, so I open it from the My Themes folder. From there I go to insert From Slides Other Presentations. At this point all the slides have transfers in.

When I go to more the info on a slide with in the ppt with new theme it shuts down and tells me there is an error.

I am VERY new to Mac but been using ppt for windows for years...

Thanks and Happy Holidays

Well, this helps a little, but I still don't know what it actually is that
you've "received". There is no such thing in PPT's terminology as a "theme
slide". What is the extension on this file's name? Which version of PPT was
it created by? Specific details & explicit descriptions are the only way
anyone here has a shot at understanding what you're dealing with.

If it is either an Office Theme (.thmx) or a PowerPoint Template (.potx) it
should appear as an available Theme in the Elements Gallery when you click
Slide Themes then Custom Themes. Selecting it there applies the Theme to the
presentation file you have open at that time. There is no need to "Insert"
any slides from it. IOW, "Office Themes" are not really presentation files,
they are a set of instructions that determine what formatting is applied in
an actual presentation file.

Even if it is an Office Theme there could be some incompatibility if it was
created in a Windows version of PPT. There could be font issues involved as
well as the fact that Themes in Office 2007 (Windows) are not quite the same
as the implementation in 2008.
