Using the Microsoft newsgroup interface

When I search a particular newsgroup, the results display
messages that don't appear when I scroll through the
pages from top to bottom.

Why is this? Is there a way to go from the found item in
a search to the top of the thread? Are there
instructions for using the interface that someone can
point me to?

Maybe, because the main window shows the messages broken down by
'pages' whereas the search window shows the messages all at once.

You might want to consider using a newsreader to access the newsgroups.
A free program is Outlook Express and it comes with the Windows OS.
