Using the mouse wheel to zoom in

On Word 2007, I can't use "Ctrl + scroll the mouse wheel" to zoom into my
documents anymore. It used to work before but all of a sudden it stopped.

Is there a setting I need to enable?

There have been many many reports of problems zooming using the Ctrl+Wheel
in Word 2007, particularly with mice that use the IntelliPoint drivers. Some
have reported improvements after updating their mouse drivers to the latest
versions. (BTW... are you running Windows XP or Vista? I've had many such
problems running in Vista. I find if I turn the wheel really really quickly,
it does work. But, I haven't found complete relief yet.)

I am using Word 2007 retail on Vista retail. And you're absolutely right, if
I scroll the mouse wheel really fast in either direction, it zooms in and
out intermittently and not accurately. I will try to reinstall my mouse
drivers.

Thank you for your reply.

Just to add to confirm that I have some strange mouse problems with Vista
and Word 2007. I cannot get the Magnify Zoom function to work correctly: not
that I ever use the feature, but found out one day when I carelessly bumped
the magnify button against the keyboard whilst scrolling.

If I use Alt+F4 to bring up the Shut Down Windows dialog, the zoom doesn't
scroll the options box either. Let's hope for a new driver soon.
