Using Visual Studio Dotnet with InfoPath

Just for clarification, I am a little confused. If I edit my form
using using Visual Studio DotNet and use C# to handle events etc..
Does this mean that my IP form must be implemented as a trusted form?
Or does it depend if my coding access local system resources (File
System, AcitveX controls etc..). I would prefer to keep my solution
"sandboxed", allowing users to simply access the template from a web
site or SharePoint location..

Thanks
RickM
