Using Windows XP, receiving Windows Installer Error 1606 when ope.

I tried to uninstall MS Money 2002, but the Money System Pack would not
uninstall. Then I installed MS Money 2005 but every time I open the app I
get the Windows Installer error 1606 for every operation I do in the app. I
have tried to reinstall MS Money 2002 but the installation fails due to the
Windows Installer Error 1606. If I download the Office 2000 SR-1a, will it
help me to repair the Windows Installer?

Microsoft Money is not part of Microsoft Office, so installing an Office
service pack will have no effect on problems you have with Money. See
