Using Woeld 2007 to open Word 97 documents. Advice please.

Hello everyone, my first post here.

I have just purchased Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student.

I have been using Word 97 for the past decade or so.

Please can someone tell me if I will be able to open my old Word 9
documents in Word 2007 without any difficulty?

Of course. There /may/ be some formatting inconsistencies, but they should
not be too great...

This is good news. Many thanks for the quick reply.

After ordering Office 2007 in prep for purchasing my new Dell PC onc
Windows 7 comes out I suddenly had a horrible feeling my Father
hundreds of Word documents would not work! :eek

Word 2007 (as well as Word 2003 SP3) will balk at opening pre-Word 6 files.
If that happens, take a look here for the solution:

But, you shouldn't have a problem with Word 97 files.
