Using Word 2003 on Two Monitors

In my usage of Word (2003), I almost always need 2 documents open side
by side (full window) so I can compare, edit, and cut and paste between
them.

My question is: can I use 2 monitors to do this? If, so, can you
outline the steps I would utilize to achieve this? For example, do I
open one instance of Word or two?

Someone told me I can't open 2 instances of Word, so I would have to
use a single 24 inch monitor and open one instance of Word and have the
2 documents side by side..but this would be less than optimal as the
work area for each document would be less.

If possible with 2 monitors, can anyone recommend a brand of 19"
monitor that can also be rotated 90 degrees?

Thank you for your help!

With two monitors already configured for your computer:
Open a Word document -- it will open on your "Primary" monitor.
Open your second Word document -- it will also open on your "Primary"
monitor.
Drag one of the Word documents to your "Secondary" monitor.
Now you have a different document open on each screen.

I have two Samsung 19" LCDs that rotate. I love them dearly, but the
rotation software DOES NOT support multiple monitors spanning a single
desktop :-((

Good luck,

Word doesn't care. It's handled by the operating system and your video
cards and drivers. For further information go to Start, Help, and search
for "multiple monitors" click the link and read the requirements and
instructions there.
