using word 2007 to numbered pages starting with 1, 2, 3, 4 consecu

I am using word 2007 to create an essay with a header on each page for apa
style formatting and when I get to the 4th page it changes page 2 to page 4
for example 1, 2, 3, 2, I need it to go 1, 2, 3, 4. how can I do this ?
