Hi there,

I am implementing PWA2007 in our organization. I dont want to use the
timesheet in PWA. Is there an option for enabling only vacation requests?

Hi ,

you maybe do it like in the 2003 administrative time. Create a project
plan with some vacation tasks in it. Add everyone in your resource
pool to the project team. Save and Publish (Keeping in mind whom you
want to approve the vacation time. ) then the resources can use PWA
tasks -- assign myself to an existing task -- specify the dates and
send it for approval.

That way you would also be able to analyse non working time !!

Hope it helps.

To use the built-in Administrative time requests, such as Vacation time,
your organization will need to set up the Timesheet functionality even
though you do not intend to use it. This is because the planned Vacation
functionality depends on the Timesheet functionality. Even though you are
not using the My Timesheets feature, your resource managers will then be
able to approve future nonworking time such as Vacation, and when approved,
the Vacation time appears as nonworking time on the resource's personal
calendar in the Enterprise Resource Pool. This will be a great benefit to
your project managers, since Project Server will be able to reschedule
planned work around the future vacations of their team members.

The answer given to you by ProjectManZA might work for you as well, but do
know that using ProjManZA's approach will not place the vacation time as
nonworking time on the resource's personal calendar in the Enterprise
Resource Pool. Hope this helps.
