Validation errors after Office update

D

Don Ritchie

I received an automatic update from Windows the other day. Ever since the
update I get a warning whenever I open Office saying that my copy of office
is invalid and it gives me two options: Fix it or Remind me Later.

I keep clicking Remind Me Later, but it is REALLY annoying!

This copy of Office 2007 came installed from the factory. I use a factory
installed Vista (and I've never reinstalled either Office or Vista on this
laptop).

WTF! Make this popup go away!!! And when I try to use MS's support website
they say they're going to charge me $50 for the priviledge of emailing
them!!!!!

Please email me back, (e-mail address removed)

If Office 2007 came installed as you post then you have a Trial version of Office.
The pop up is normal when the Trial versions expiry has arrived. To correct the
Issue uninstall the Trial version and purchase a Retail version of Office and
install

It's not the trial version. I'm sure. The popup started after I got an
Office Validation update through Windows Update. I've had this laptop for
over a year. Surely, the trial would have expired long ago, and the notices
appearing aren't simply coinciding immediately after the Office Validation
update.

Whatever.

Anyone know how do I uninstall the update that caused my "trial" version of
Office to flip out?

Ask in the Office 2010 Beta forum . The address and the link is in your
documentation that you received with your Beta package.
If not then you have a pirated version of Office 2010 and buddy you are on your own
with that issue
