validation problems

i'm trying to download templates from ppt 2007 home&student. this version was
on a cd not already installed but it came together with the labtop when i
bought it about 5months ago. i activated it and it's genuine. i mean it cam
with the comp so it must be right? but while trying to download, it keeps
telling me that it's not a genuine version, and asking me to validate. the
microsoft site tells me "validation successful"... but still cant download
anything. can't get live help cuz the product id is not genuine........ how
can that be???? help~!!
