Value added Functionality

Sundos Masri

Hello everyone

I am preparing Project Plan Template for our consultants to use and
customize to best meet clinet needs. It is a basic Template that includes
the tasks, Duration, Start and finish Date, % complete and added a cloumn
for Status indicators. Can you recommend other value added functioanltiy
that I can Incorporate into the template. I have not worked with project
plans much ad I am still learning.

Your feed back is greatly apprecaited.

Sincerely
SM

Yes,

I would add as milestones to the top of the schedule all business
deliverables from the Business Case then make sure you have tasks to
complete all those business deliverables.

Don't fall into the trap of only tracking time and cost as that doesn't
guarantee success at all. Completing what will add business added value can.

Hi Sundos

Thats a great but somewhat big question. Id guess it is not possible to give
a good answer on that question but coming up after a while in the projects
are different views and reports. Most of my project files are easy to work
with in the beginning but after a while the needs of views and reports are
arising. I would put some energy there in the template.

Thanks Paul. Your feed back is great. Can you tell me a little more on how
to incorporate views and reports information into the template. I am a
little unsure on how to achieve that.

Thanks in advance

Just copy your deliverables from the Project's Business case into the top of
the schedule, make the new task's durations all 0d then make sure you have
all the Tasks needed in the schedule to complete them.

If a deliverable has to be done by a certain date, search help on how to add
a Deadline.

Link all Deliverable milestones to the Task that completes them.
