Values from collapsed data

Mmmm ... don't know how best to explain this problem. Here goes ...

I have a regular spreadsheet report sent to me at work. There may be 200
rows of data subtotalled into 10 sets of data. Each line has a total which
has may be hidden but when '+' is selected all of perhaps 20 lines appear
individually, then when the '-' is selected it shows just the subtotalled
line and so on.

I want to create a graph with just the 10 lines of subtotalled data.
However when I try to select the data it uses all the 200 lines below it. I
tried to cut and paste special using 'values' but still all the 200 lines
move and not the summarised bit.

Is there a way round this please?
Thanks
Colin

If you use the chart wizard, you should be able to do the following:
Don't select anything
Access the Chart Wizard
On step 2 of 4, switch to the Series Tab
For each of the pieces of data, do the following:
Click in the Name: area
Click on the cell that names the data (or type a name)
Click in the Values: area
Click on the cell that contains the data
Click Add Enter the data move to the next entry
After the last data, Click Next.
